John 16: Is Your Joy Full?
Verse of the Day: (V24) “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

1. Judged (V1-21)
V8 “And when he is come, he will reprove the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment:”

Jesus revealed to His disciples that the world including the prince of the world, the devil, had already been judged for their sins and wickedness, and found guilty, and condemned to the fiery pits of hell. The only remedy was for Jesus, the Son of God, to leave His throne in heaven, to live among man, and subsequently to die on the cruel cross and shed His precious blood for the sins of the world. Whosoever therefore believes in Jesus shall never perish in fiery hell, but have everlasting life with Him in the pearly gates of heaven.

V11 “Of judgment, because the prince of this word is judged.”

2. Joy (V22-30)
V22 “And ye now therefore have sorrow: but I will see you again, and your heart shall rejoice, and your joy no man taketh from you.”

As the false religious leaders persecuted them, Jesus encouraged His disciples not to be sorrowful but to always rejoice in Him, because one day they shall be with Him in heaven forever. Indeed, when we believe and trust in Jesus, our joy shall be full, because He hears and answers our prayers, as we pray in His name, according to His will, and for His glory. Many times, we pray and receive nothing, because we pray according to our will, and we refuse to confess and repent our sins, and therefore we have no joy in life.

V24 “Hitherto have ye asked nothing in my name: ask, and ye shall receive, that your joy may be full.”

3. Jesus (V31-33)
V31 “Jesus answered them, Do ye now believe?”

Jesus encouraged His disciples to be of good cheer because He had overcome the world and the devil, and He shall grant them His peace and protection as they went through tribulation and trouble. Let us believe and trust in Jesus as we go through life storms because Jesus has promised us that He shall always be with us, and grant us His perfect peace, and help us to overcome life storms in His time, and according to His perfect will.

V33 “These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, thank You that my joy is full because I believe in Jesus, my Saviour.
