2 Timothy 3: Are You Perfect?
Verse of the Day: (V17) “That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.”

1. Power (V1-9)
V1 “This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.”

Paul warned Timothy that in the last days, and even during their time, many shall call themselves Christians, and had a form or outward appearance of godliness, but inwardly they were ungodly and did not possess God’s power and holiness. Many were selfish, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, unforgiving, troublemakers, false accusers, violent, fierce, traitors and evil. Today there are many professing Christians who are also without God’s power and holiness because they have never truly believe and receive Jesus Christ as their personal Saviour and Lord.

V5 “Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.”

2. Persecution (V10-13)
V11 “Persecutions, afflictions, which came unto me at Antioch, at Iconium, at Lystra; what persecutions I endured: but out of them all the Lord delivered me.”

What great joy to know that despite Paul’s sufferings and persecutions wherever and whenever he went because of his faith in God, yet God delivered him from not just some, but all his persecutions! Let us therefore take heart to keep enduring all our persecutions for our faith in God, because we know that not only all who live and love God shall suffer persecutions, but that one day, God shall delivered us from all our persecutions!

V12 “Yea, and all that will live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.”

3. Perfect (V14-17)
V15 “And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus.”

Paul’s last words inspired by God, to Timothy and all Christians, were that God’s Word or the Bible was the best instructions for man to be perfect before the perfect God. Indeed, the acronym of BIBLE is Best Instruction Before Leaving Earth, and let us keep studying and applying the principles of the Bible to our lives as we strive to be perfect before the perfect God, until He calls us home to be with Him in His perfect home in pearly heaven!

V16 “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:”

Prayer of the Day:
Dearest God, please help me to be perfect by studying and applying Your Word.
